COCOA BUTTER :

Cocoa butter is an edible vegetable fat that comes from cocoa beans. It is also called as theobroma oil and rich in fatty acids.

Botanical Name : Theobroma Cacao.
Method of Extraction : Solvent extraction.
Color &Smell : It is pale yellow in color and has cocoa flavor and aroma.
Applications : Used in chocolate making, ointments, toiletries and pharmaceuticals.

Attributes :

1)  Being high in fatty acids, Cocoa butterforms a protective barrier over skin and helps to hydrate and nourish the skin. It also improves the skin elasticity too.
2)  Cocoa butter is also rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. These substances may improve blood flow to the skin and slow skin aging by protecting against damage from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
3) Cocoa butter is also known to smooth scars, wrinkles and other marks on the skin. Cocoa butter has also been commonly used to heal rashes from conditions like eczema and dermatitis.

Cautions :

1)  It may cause a rash or other allergic reaction.
2)  It should be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
